Top 2027 CB Jailen Hill Breaks Down "Great" Notre Dame Visit
Jailen Hill came into this weekend’s trip to Notre Dame with high expectations and for the elite 2027 California cornerback, they were met.
“It was great,” Hill told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “I loved everything about just being there from 3:00 until 11. The game had me off my seat the whole game. I just had a blast; meeting Coach (Mike) Mickens, Coach (Marcus) Freeman, Jevaughn (Codlin), everything was great.”
The St. John Bosco star was excited by the game’s style.
“Just how when everybody was passing the ball, both teams were passing the ball,” he said. “I like how it was a passing game. I know that when it's time for me to come, I'm going to be tested for sure.”
The atmosphere inside Notre Dame Stadium certainly impressed the 6-foot-3, 170-pounder.
“Oh my God, it was crazy,” he said. “The student section, everything was just crazy. It was my first time there. Everything was just great.”
In addition to Notre Dame, Hill has offers from schools like USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Michigan, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Florida State and Miami among several others.
He enjoyed his chats with Mickens and Freeman.
“They were just telling me to stay on top of what I have going on, stay on top of football, school,” Hill relayed. “And then when it's my time, just make the right decision based on the people that's treating you right and just keeping a good relationship, keeping it consistent.”
Hill has been very impressed with the people in South Bend.
“They're not only great football coaches, they're great human beings,” he said. “Everything is not about football with them. I really appreciate them for showing me different.
“My first visit there, Coach Freeman didn't mention a lot of football. He was talking about life after football. I just really appreciate him for that because everybody knows we can play football, but what can we do after that?”
Hill had the chance to reconnect with Irish linebacker and former St. John Bosco star Kyngston Viliamu-Asa (pictured above).
He also had the chance to meet several other people, including recruits.
“It was great,” he said. “I think they were looking at the program exactly like me, a family-based program all about their players. I really appreciate them just being all about their players.”
He’ll see Texas A&M again in a couple weeks when he visits College Station, but he’ll still be prioritizing his relationships with the Irish.
“If this stays consistent and I feel like this is the right place for me, I can definitely see myself playing here.”
