2018 Wake Forest (N.C.) defensive back Javon Terry holds early offers from East Carolina, Marshall, N.C. State, North Carolina, and Wake Forest, but that list could be growing shortly.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder has had several schools drop by during the Spring Evaluation Period to find out more about the three-star prospect.

“It’s a blessing to get these offers,” Terry told Irish Sports Daily. “I am trying to focus on school and keep my grades up too.

“East Carolina, North Carolina, and Wake Forest have been recruiting me hard. There have been a lot of schools that have dropped by my school to say hello.”

Notre Dame was one of the schools to stop by Wake Forest and inquire about the talented defensive back.

“Notre Dame came by my school about a week ago to check on me,” Terry said. “They talked to my coach and asked about my grades and stuff.”

The North Carolina native has checked out the in-state programs but could get out this summer on a few out of state visits as well.

“I have visited North Carolina for Junior Day and N.C. State,” stated Terry. “Those are the only two I have visited recently.”

Education is something Terry is putting significant emphasis on during his recruitment. Terry is well-aware football can open doors, but he also knows he needs something to fall back on.

“I want to major in Business or Engineering,” Terry explained. “I want to make sure I have a life after football. I want to get a good degree because everyone doesn’t make it to the NFL.”

If Notre Dame does start to recruit Terry harder, a visit will likely happen sooner than later so he can get a feel for the program.

“I will have to go to the school and see how the campus is, but they would most likely be a school high on my list if I got the offer,” said Terry.
