Mason Cerovac ‍ returned to Notre Dame this past weekend for another visit and the 2027 Ohio linebacker left impressed once again.

“It went good,” Cerovac told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “We got there and had lunch and just talked to some coaches. Then, we went to the walkthrough and then out on the field for warmups.”

The Olmsted Falls High School standout enjoyed the environment inside Notre Dame Stadium as well as the Irish’s performance during their 36-7 win over NC State.

“I thought it was a pretty cool atmosphere and that their defense played very good,” the 6-foot-3, 230-pounder said.

“I felt everyone was just in the game and that there were no dull moments. It was just always loud and a problem for their opponent.”

Cerovac pays close attention to his position during gameday visits.

“I look at linebackers and the different ways that teams use them and what they do during the game, the defense's playing styles to where I fit best,” he said.

From what he saw from the Irish, he thinks it’d be a good fit for him.

“I thought that they used them in some ways that I could see myself playing,” he said. “They move them down to the line, pass rush and then play your typical linebacker role as well.”

Cerovac has early offers from MAC programs like Buffalo, Toledo, Miami-Ohio, UMass and Kent State along with West Virginia.

He had the chance to speak with Notre Dame linebackers coach Max Bullough during a visit to South Bend for camp earlier in the year.

“He's very intense and gets the best out of you,” Cervac said of Bullough.

He’s planning to stay patient with the Irish during the recruiting process.

“I'll just have to wait and see what happens,” he said. “Just keep getting better, having good games and I'll see what happens come January.”

He’s already taken visits to Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, West Virginia and Buffalo in addition to Notre Dame this fall and has more in mind.

“I think I'm going to Pitt. I have some other schools that I'm going to go to, I just don't when and which schools yet.”
