After visiting for Notre Dame’s home opener against Texas A&M back in September, Tyler Fryman‍ was back this past weekend for the Irish’s game against Navy and once again, the 2027 Kentucky receiver had a great time.

“Awesome,” Fryman said of his latest stop in South Bend. “Just meeting with the coaches again and meeting with the staff again, everything was awesome.

“They were just catching up, seeing how playoffs we were going. Obviously we just started playoffs, so they were just asking about that. We talked a little bit about school and what that may look like there. Obviously, the academics are amazing.”

The Beechwood High School star is embracing the idea of being challenged in the classroom at Notre Dame.

“School is school, but they talked about how obviously you have to show up on time for class, you've got to go to class,” he said. “I feel like that's good to hear because if I'm going to school, I'm going to learn and I'm going to get better. That's the reason why I'm going to go to school.”

Fryman likes the staff at Notre Dame.

“They're great people,” he said. “Some of them come from similar backgrounds. Just catching up with them, it's awesome to talk to them.”

The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder is a longtime Louisville baseball commit, but he saw his recruitment for football go to another level this offseason.

Notre Dame offered him a scholarship after a camp performance this summer and have expressed a ton of interest ever since.

“Especially the recruiting staff,” he said. “They all get involved and they all text me, so it's awesome.”

His offer sheet also includes Kentucky, Cincinnati, Miami-Ohio, Toledo and, of course, Louisville.

Fryman enjoyed his second game inside Notre Dame Stadium.

“Obviously you've got to win and it started snowing, so that was pretty sick, but it was a little chilly,” he acknowledged.

He liked what he saw from the Irish’s offense in their 49-10 victory.

“I thought the receivers played good,” he said. “I liked how they threw a lot of deep balls. That was cool, especially against different coverages. But also on the defensive side, the defense was awesome; coming downhill, making plays, especially Adon Shuler. He's fun to watch.”

While in town, he had the chance to speak with 2027 Irish quarterback commit Teddy Jarrard as well as 2027 tight end target Titus Hawk, who is also a top baseball prospect.

Fryman doesn’t have any other visits set at the moment, but definitely wants to get back to Notre Dame.

“I would want to take an official visit sometime in the offseason and just catch up with the coaches again, and then see more of the campus and get more of the experience. Obviously, the gameday experience is awesome, but what it would look like more on the academic side and everything.”
