There is never a given in college football recruiting. 

You’ve seen legacies or brothers choose different schools. The classic example would be Notre Dame landing Equanimeous St. Brown, only to see his two younger brothers head to Stanford and USC. 

Then you have a kid like 2026 Notre Dame defensive back signee Ayden Pouncey‍. 

Notre Dame actually landed his older brother, Jordan, before he decommitted and signed with Texas in 2017.
