Notre Dame has made a strong push to add depth to its defensive line in 2026 through the Transfer Portal.
The latest defensive lineman to schedule a visit is Michigan State undergraduate transfer Jalen Thompson, who will be on campus January 5–6. 247Sports was the first to report the visit.
Thompson held an offer from Notre Dame coming out of high school, giving him some familiarity with the program.
The 6-foot-3, 260-pounder had a strong 2025 season as he finished the year with 30 tackles and 6.5 tackles for loss, according to Michigan State’s website.
For his career, Thompson played in 31 games for the Spartans and recorded 66 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.
247 Sports lists him as the No. 12 edge and the No. 103 player overall in the portal.
Thompson is also expected to visit Texas A&M on Sunday and he’ll have one year of eligibility remaining.
