2018 Reno (Nev.) linebacker Brandon Kaho has kept a low profile during the recruiting process, but that hasn’t stopped area recruiter Brian Polian from recruiting the BYU commit.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder has had a relationship with the former Nevada head coach and admitted it was good to have Polian back at his school recently.
“He stopped by last week,” Kaho told Irish Sports Daily. “We couldn’t really talk because of NCAA rules, but we said hello. It was good to see him because I hadn’t seen him for a while, so it was good for him to check on me when came back to Nevada. He did speak to my coaches and vice principal.”
Kaho has a laid back personality, and Polian has made sure to not overwhelm him with the recruiting process.
“Coach Polian checks on me and tries not to bug me,” explained Kaho. “He wants to see how I am and how things are going at home.”
In April, Kaho released a Top 8 of BYU, Cal, Notre Dame, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, Utah, and Washington. There haven’t been any new schools make a move this spring and Kaho will move forward with his finalists.
"There haven’t been any new schools that have come into the mix that I know of,” Kaho said. “It’s been really calm lately.”
When it comes to summer plans, Kaho isn’t planning any massive summer visit schedules like some prospects. The Reno native plans to take classes and focus on recruiting later.
“I don’t have anything planned out right now,” stated Kaho. “I am taking some classes in the summer, so I will probably stay at home for the most part. There are some classes required for me to take and I haven’t taken them. I am just getting them out of the way during the summer.”
Kaho will start to look ahead to his official visits during the fall, and Notre Dame is a school that will be right in the thick of things when it comes to his five visits. However, he isn’t ready to name which schools he will be visiting just yet.
“I will go on my official visits after football season,” said Kaho. “I don’t know who I will be taking official visits to yet.”
