Notre Dame has been active in offering 2029 prospects over the last week and the most recent offer is to one of the nation’s best.

2029 Eau Gallie (Fla.) athlete X'Zavier Corbin‍ reported an offer from Notre Dame on Thursday evening from running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider.

It’s a small full-circle moment between the Corbin family and Seider. In 2017, Seider offered Corbin’s older brother, Jashaun Corbin‍, while he was coaching at Florida.

Corbin’s older brother played running back at Texas A&M and Florida State in college before playing in the league with multiple teams.

Beyond that familiarity, there’s another connection that could benefit Notre Dame down the line.

“Coach Seider knows my coach,” Corbin told ISD. “They both went to FAMU. He actually recruited my brother. My coach said one of the best coaches and recruiters out there. Excited to build that relationship.”

The offer from Notre Dame also has Corbin excited, as he’s well aware of the recent success in South Bend.

“The Notre Dame offer is big,” stated Corbin. “I think the tradition alone stands out. I feel like Coach Freeman is there for the long haul.”

As a freshman, Corbin quickly made a name for himself in Florida high school football. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound standout rushed for 1,223 yards and 13 touchdowns, while also adding 139 receiving yards during the season.

While Corbin is being recruited as a running back, his future at the next level could come on the defensive side of the ball.

“Safety,” Corbin said of the other position schools view him playing at the next level. “Most schools are recruiting me as both right now. I feel like in the next couple of years I will be able to choose which one I will play at the next level.”

Despite being just a freshman, Corbin already holds 30 offers. The early attention hasn’t changed his mindset.

“The offers are great,” Corbin stated. “It just shows what I have in front of me, but it’s not gonna stop my grind. I’m trying to be the best that I can be.”

Spring visits are expected to be the next step in his recruitment.

“No visit set in stone right now,” said Corbin. “I’m gonna try to get out to as many as possible.”
