2027 Edge Abraham Sesay Confirms What He Thought About Notre Dame
Abraham Sesay’s return to Notre Dame this week didn’t change much.
And that’s a good thing because the 2027 Pennsylvania edge defender’s trip to South Bend earlier this week confirmed what he already believed about the Irish.
Sesay spent Tuesday and Wednesday on campus and came away with a reinforced view of both the program and where it stands in his recruitment.
“It was great,” Sesay said. “Just getting back kind of reinforced everything I thought.”
The Downingtown East standout has spent considerable time evaluating Notre Dame throughout the process and this visit served more as confirmation than discovery.
One of the biggest areas that continues to resonate with Sesay is the program’s emphasis beyond football.
“Just the life after football portion and the 4 For 40 and just them really selling the life of Notre Dame,” he said. “What it could really do for you on the field and off the field.”
That message has been consistent and remains a major factor as he works toward a decision.
Sesay was able to get a full look at the program during the visit, sitting in on meetings, watching practice and spending time with both academic advisors and staff members across campus.
He also spent extended time with defensive coordinator Chris Ash and defensive line coach Charlie Partridge, both of whom are central to how Notre Dame is positioning him on the field.
“Just talking to Coach Partridge was amazing,” he said. “He’s an amazing human overall.”
The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder noticed Partridge’s ability to quickly build relationships within the room in a relatively short time on staff.
From a football standpoint, Notre Dame’s vision for him has been clear.
“They just see me playing off the edge and really doing what #5 did and what #5 is going to do,” he said, referring to current Irish edge Boubacar Traore.
That role aligns with how Sesay sees himself at the next level and adds another layer to what has already been a strong overall fit.
Notre Dame is clearly in a strong position here, but will have to hold off a competitive group of programs down the stretch.
Sesay has official visits set to LSU, Duke, Notre Dame and Florida State over the coming weeks, a stretch that will ultimately determine his decision.
“After my official visits, I’ll be able to make a decision based on how they compare,” he said.
“I really love Notre Dame. I love what it’s about. I love how they conduct themselves and how they really treat the program.”
