Shivers had accepted a job to be Florida State’s assistant running backs coach in January after spending the last year at Eastern Michigan as a graduate assistant.
The former Auburn and Indiana running back started his coaching career at Florida powerhouse Chaminade-Madonna, where he served as the running backs coach and head track coach for his alma mater.
During his five-year collegiate career, Shivers rushed for 1,612 yards and 14 touchdowns, while making 60 receptions for 339 yards and two scores.
Shivers best season came in 2022 as he tallied 592 rushing yards and six touchdowns for the Hoosiers.
