Teddy Jarrard’s latest visit to Notre Dame centered on preparation.

The 2026 Irish quarterback signee spent time with the staff continuing to learn the offense while also strengthening relationships within the program during last month’s official visit to South Bend. The visit served as another step toward being ready when he arrives this summer.

“It was good,” Jarrard told Irish Sports Daily. “I got to get a lot closer to the players and be more in the program kind of right before I go up in the summer. I thought it was a great visit and overall, I’m just getting more comfortable with everything.”

Jarrard spent time with players across the roster, getting a feel for the culture he’ll soon be stepping into full-time.

“I think it’s a great group,” Jarrard said. “I think Notre Dame recruits in a way that they get very similar players. So it’s kind of easy to get into the culture and fit in with everybody. I love the guys up there and I’m excited.”

The former North Cobb High School standout has built strong relationships with head coach Marcus Freeman, quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli and offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock, which made the visit feel familiar.

“They were great,” Jarrard said. “I was mostly with the quarterbacks and Gino and Coach Freeman and everything, but it was good. Same as always. I’ve known those guys for a good amount of time now, so just reconnecting and just trying to learn the offense was the biggest thing when I got up there.”

The 6-foot-3, 195-pounder has already begun working through Notre Dame’s expectations before he arrives on campus.

“They have me trying to stay ahead and working out twice a day,” Jarrard said. “They’ve got me on a program and I’m also learning the offense over FaceTimes and everything as well. So just doing as much as I possibly can to be as prepared as possible while I’m not there.”

The level of investment from the Irish staff, including clearing the hurdles to make Jarrard reclassification from a 2027 recruit to the Class of 2026 possible, has been consistent.

“It feels great,” Jarrard said. “That’s why I chose Notre Dame in the first place. When people believe in you, it makes you want to do better and makes you work harder.

“I’ve had confidence about it from the start and I’m glad I’m going to a place that wants me as a quarterback and thinks they can develop me in a great way.”

The Kennesaw, Ga., native also spent time with uncommitted targets, including an elite 2027 tight end target.

“I was with Jaxon Dollar‍,” Jarrard said. “He was great. I was trying to recruit him the most while I was there.

“I always want big tight ends out there. That always makes my job easier.”

Jarrard pointed to Notre Dame’s overall profile when explaining what he tells top targets, which mirrors his reason for his own decision.

“You’re going to get great academics and you’re also going to play for national championships. You’re going to come to a place that separates itself with culture and what they do. You also have an amazing head coach who wins football games.”
