2027 Florida DL Santana Harvey Locks In Notre Dame Official
Notre Dame has worked its way back into Santana Harvey’s recruitment.
On Tuesday night, the 2027 Florida defensive lineman announced he will take an official visit to South Bend on June 19 after communication between the two sides recently picked back up.
“Things with Notre Dame picked back up a couple weeks ago,” Harvey told Irish Sports Daily. “I’m working to get up for a spring visit as well here soon.”
The renewed contact came after a quieter stretch between the Irish and the Lakeland High School standout earlier in the process.
“It was kind of a crazy process,” Harvey said. “But we just started texting more again and calling. Then I was just working to get a spring visit set up and the official visit popped up as well.”
Despite the lull in communication, Notre Dame has remained a program Harvey has taken seriously.
“I’m very excited things picked back up,” Harvey said. “Notre Dame has always been a great school for me and I’m very serious about Notre Dame and the opportunity that it presents.”
The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder pointed to the program’s ability to produce players and people as a major factor.
“Just the way you can be developed on and off the field at Notre Dame,” Harvey said. “You can be developed as a football player and in the classroom as well and get a great education and a great degree.”
Harvey is planning to pair the official visit with a spring trip to campus, which would be his first time in South Bend.
“I just want to see the facilities, the field and just the operation of practice,” Harvey said. “How the coaches coach and everything and just get a live feeling for it.”
The Lakeland, Fla., native has been active on the visit circuit this spring with trips to Clemson, Florida State, Kentucky and Georgia Tech already completed.
He has official visits set for Clemson on May 29 and Florida State on June 5 ahead of his trip to Notre Dame later in the month, with a potential visit to Kentucky still under consideration.
Florida State currently sits near the top of his recruitment.
“I would say they’re top two,” Harvey said. “Florida State’s definitely high on my list.”
Harvey plans to make a decision this summer, with a timeline that could fall between the final week of June and the first week of July.
“My decision timeline could range from the last week of June to the first week of July.”
