David Folorunsho‍ will be back at Notre Dame this weekend, and it won’t be his last time.

The Illinois 2027 defensive lineman confirmed plans to return to South Bend on Saturday and already has an official visit scheduled for June.

Folorunsho has made multiple trips to campus during his recruitment and this visit will give him another opportunity to continue building on what has already been established.

“Just to see the staff again, talk to (defensive line coach Charlie) Partridge and just talk to the whole staff there,” he said.

The Chicago native has remained in regular contact with the Irish and continues to feel the emphasis from the staff.

“They make me feel like a priority,” he said. “Every time I’ve been there, I feel like I always get something out of it.”

Folorunsho has been active on the visit trail this spring, making stops at several programs.

“I just got back from Miami,” he said. “I’ve been to Michigan, Miami, Mizzou, Georgia. Obviously Notre Dame I’ve been to multiple times. Cal, Alabama.”

The St. Patrick High School standout is not planning any additional spring visits after this weekend, but the focus will soon shift toward official visit season.

Folorunsho plans to take three or four official visits before making a decision and has already locked in a return trip to Notre Dame.

“I know I have Notre Dame, June 12th,” he said. “That’s one that’s definitely locked up.”

Notre Dame will have competition as the process moves forward.

Folorunsho indicated Texas Tech will receive an official visit as well and has built a strong early connection with the staff in Lubbock.

“Just the relationship I have made with the coaches in a short amount of time,” he said. “I feel like I learned a lot when I went to some of those practices.”

In addition to Notre Dame and Texas Tech, Miami, Missouri, Penn State, Indiana and Michigan have also been involved with several schools continuing to push for position as Folorunsho works toward narrowing his list.

The Irish will look to make the most of another opportunity this weekend before getting him back on campus for an official visit in June, a stretch that could ultimately determine where he lands.
