Post-Visit Update | 2027 DL David Folorunsho
Notre Dame continues to position itself well with David Folorunsho following another strong visit to South Bend. The 2027 Illinois defensive lineman returned to campus this weekend and came away with a clearer understanding of how he would fit within the Irish defense. Notre Dame plans to use him as a three-tech and big end, which aligns directly with how he views himself.Folorunsho also emphasized how the Irish staff continues to make him feel like a priority, with both Charlie Partridge and Marcus Freeman reinforcing that during the visit.Partridge's emphasis on development and technique stood out.Folorunsho pointed to how players respond to Partridge and the environment within the defensive line group, another positive indicator for Notre Dame. From a big-picture standpoint, the Irish remain firmly in the mix.Folorunsho said Notre Dame is "definitely at the top" of his list, while noting that he is not yet formally ranking schools when asked to clarify a bit.Georgia, Miami, Texas Tech and Michigan continue to be involved, with Texas Tech in particular building momentum earlier this spring.Folorunsho has no additional unofficial visits planned and has already locked in an official visit to Notre Dame for June 12.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.
