Post-Official Update | David Folorunsho
I just spoke with Notre Dame defensive line commit David Folorunsho, who returned to South Bend this weekend for his official visit and came away feeling even better about his decision."It went great," Folorunsho said. "Overall great time."The Chicago native spent much of the weekend around the people who helped convince him to commit in the first place, including head coach Marcus Freeman, defensive line coach Charlie Partridge and current Notre Dame defensive linemen Jason Onye and Rodney Dunham.Folorunsho said one of the biggest benefits of the weekend was getting additional time with Partridge and seeing more of how Notre Dame plans to develop him."Just getting to spend some more time with him and watch film and things of that sort and just seeing how he really develops all his players firsthand was great."Notre Dame continues to see Folorunsho fitting at multiple spots along the defensive front, including both defensive end and three-technique.One other notable development from the weekend was the amount of time Folorunsho spent around fellow Chicago defensive lineman Brayden Parks, who is one of Notre Dame's top remaining targets in the 2027 class."We spend a lot of time together," Folorunsho said. "He's an overall great guy."Folorunsho didn't hesitate when asked what Parks would bring to Notre Dame."Just the type of player he is and just who he is as a human being," he said. "He's a great guy and he'll be a great good friend."In fact, Folorunsho believes Parks already knows where he belongs."I think he knows this is where everybody wants him to be and this is the best spot for him overall."As for his own recruitment, Folorunsho made it clear there is nothing to monitor. Asked whether he was still planning to take visits elsewhere, the Chicago native left little room for interpretation."I'm locked in."No other visits are currently planned.

Marcus Fakatou Drops Notre Dame: Irish Still Loaded on Defensive Line
Notre Dame is no longer in the mix for 2027 defensive end Marcus Fakatou, but the Irish remain in a strong position with one of the nation's top defensive line classes.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Notre Dame and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Notre Dame and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
