2028 RB Acely Brown Continues Building Notre Dame Relationship

Acely Brown‍ arrived at Irish Invasion last month with a chance to make an even bigger impression on Notre Dame's coaching staff than he already had.

The 2028 Mississippi running back did just that and left as one of the Irish's priority running back targets in the 2028 class.

The relationship has continued to grow in the weeks since Brown's standout performance in South Bend, with Notre Dame running backs coach Ja'Juan Seider maintaining regular contact.

Those conversations have centered less on football and more on continuing to create a strong bond.

"Just talking, just building a relationship for the future,” he said. 

That approach has helped Brown connect with Seider.

"He’s a chill person," Brown said. "He doesn't talk much, like myself. So I feel like we just clicked when we first met each other."

The relationship is one reason Brown continues to view Notre Dame as a serious contender despite the distance from home.

"It's a good program, a great school," Brown said. "You can compete for a national championship. I feel like every top guy wants to do that in college."

Brown also left South Bend impressed by more than just what happened on the field.

"It's calm and peaceful out there," he said. "I like the facility they were building when I was up there. They showed us the future plans for it."

The next step is getting back to campus.

"Coming down there for some games, building my relationships with the coaches and the head coach," Brown said.

Notre Dame won't be the only stop on Brown's schedule this fall.

He's also hoping to visit Georgia, Texas, Miami and Arkansas as his national recruitment continues to take shape.

Although Brown isn't ready to discuss a commitment timeline, he already has a clear picture of what he'll be looking for in a school.

"The environment, being surrounded by people who are going to help me for the future other than just football. Also a great program for a football team and a team that I know can compete for a national championship and just having a good relationship with the coaches in general."
