Notre Dame's pursuit of Tre Oiler hasn't slowed since the Irish offered the 2028 Wisconsin tight end in June.
Oiler remains in regular contact with the staff and already has plans to return to South Bend this fall.
Notre Dame extended an offer to the 6-foot-6, 220-pounder following a strong performance at Irish Invasion in June. Since then, assistant tight ends coach Harris Bivin has become Oiler's primary point of contact as the Irish continue building the relationship.
"He's a cool guy," Oiler told Irish Sports Daily. "I definitely enjoy talking to him whenever I can."
Notre Dame's history of developing tight ends remains one of the program's biggest selling points for Oiler.
"They have a history at the tight end spot," he said.
The Arrowhead High School standout has already visited South Bend twice, first during the spring and again for Irish Invasion and Grill & Chill. Those trips gave him a chance to experience both the football program and the atmosphere around it.
"It's a cool place," Oiler said. "A lot of great coaching there and there's a lot of history behind it. I'm excited to watch what they can do this next season."
Oiler is planning to return for Notre Dame's home game against Miami this fall, one of the marquee weekends on the Irish schedule.
"I've just been kind of waiting to see some of these schools in action," Oiler said. "I'm excited. It's going to be a big game for Notre Dame."
While Notre Dame has established itself as a serious contender, Oiler's recruitment remains wide open.
Florida, Oregon, Texas A&M, Wisconsin and Iowa remain heavily involved while his offer sheet also includes Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Miami, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, UCLA and others.
The Wisconsin native hasn't finalized the rest of his fall visit schedule.
"As of right now, we're still kind of planning all those games," he said.
Oiler also is in no hurry to narrow his list or set a commitment timeline.
"As of right now, I don't really," he said when asked if he'd started thinking about a decision timeline.
"All my options are still open. I'm still evaluating and doing stuff, like evaluating it for myself."
Whenever that decision comes, Oiler knows exactly what he’ll be looking for.
"For me, it's my dream to play in the NFL. So whatever school gets me on the best path to eventually play in the NFL."
