BREAKING: Parker Boudreaux Transferring from Notre Dame
It’s been an eventful week around the Notre Dame program with Josh Barajas and Tristen Hoge transferring out, while grad transfer Cam Smith and 2018 defensive tackle Ja’mion Franklin committed to the Irish.
Sophomore offensive lineman Parker Boudreaux will also transfer from Notre Dame per the Boudreaux family.
Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly also issued a statement on Boudreaux's decision.
“We thank Parker for his work, dedication and commitment to our program over the last year and wish him nothing but the best moving forward," stated Kelly.
The 6-foot-3, 295-pounder's reason to transfer doesn’t deal with playing time or life at Notre Dame, but it surrounds his health. Boudreaux recently had his second surgery to deal with sinus problems, while he played through a few other minor health affairs last fall, which are believed to be due to the Northern climate.
Boudreaux held over 70 offers from the the top schools in country before picking Notre Dame to join Liam Eichenberg and Tommy Kraemer in the 2016 offensive line class.
As a senior, the Orlando native capped off his prep career with a State Title for Bishop Moore and then went on to play in the Blue-Grey All-American Game.
During his freshman season, Boudreaux saw time on the scout team while redshirting in the fall. In the spring, Boudreaux made the transition to center to work behind Sam Mustipher and Tristen Hoge, while he also got time at guard.
With two transfers on the interior of the offensive line, Notre Dame could very well move fifth-year senior Hunter Bivin move into the reserve role at left tackle and center, while incoming freshman Dillan Gibbons could provide depth on the interior.
