Notre Dame had the lead in the fourth quarter, forced a turnover after that, had a chance to run their four-minute offense to close the game, and got the ball back with 1:47 on the clock and two timeouts with a chance to retake the lead. Both sides of the football had a chance to close out a game they probably didn’t deserve to win, but they couldn’t get it done against BYU.
There is no doubt that stings for the players and the coaching staff.
