Pick an ND surprise player of the year for both offense and defense.

I’ll go with Jay Hayes on defense and Michael Young on offense. It’s not going to be too much of a surprise with Hayes because he has a good spring and is having a good camp, but I think he is going to be much better than people expect him to be this season. He’ll make plays and this defense will give him opportunities to make plenty.

I’ve been a Michael Young fan before Notre Dame was even aware of him as a recruit.
