Notre Dame and Boston College are ready for another grudge match this weekend as Notre Dame travels to Boston for their week three matchup.
Both teams will be coming into Saturday’s game with the same 1-1 record. Boston College started off the year with a 23-20 win over Northern Illinois but fell last week to Wake Forest 34-10. They would love to pull out a win in their home stadium to build some momentum before heading to Death Valley in week 4 to face Clemson.
It will be important for Notre Dame to continue to improve and build on what they learned in a hard-fought loss to Georgia. The defense played extremely well and have shown drastic improvements from a year ago. It will be important for quarterback Brandon Wimbush and the Irish offense to get back on track.
All offseason long, Chip Long preached the importance of the run game. Hopefully, Notre Dame can run all over Boston College and gain an important win in their first away game of the season.
Jerry Tillery
Tillery hasn't put up eye-popping numbers so far this season, but has played very well. He is matched up against a second string center at BC who struggled last week. Look for Tillery to be in the backfield a lot today.
Michael Young
Brian Kelly has talked about going younger at receiver while he is looking for someone to step up. This could be the game where they finally unleash Young who has explosive ability and had a great camp.
Dexter Williams
With no carries versus Georgia, everyone will be watching to see how the coaches use Williams this week. He'll find his way into the rotation and the Irish will need him to make an impact.
Robert Hainsey
This could be the week that Hainsey takes over the right tackle job full-time. A lot will depend on how he handles going against All-American Harold Landry. He won't win every battle in pass protection, but need to rebound to win the next one each time Landry gets pressure.
Brandon Wimbush
Boston College's defense has been terrific on 3rd down so far and Wimbush has not been great in his 3rd down opportunities. The Irish need him to be
“When it comes down to it, Georgia just executed better at the end of the game. They made the big plays that you have to make in college football to win games. It wasn’t a question of our grit or our attention to detail.
"I’ve never seen a group of guys want something so much and to fall short tonight, it really hurts. But moving forward, I’m scared for other teams because we’re coming to punish each and every opponent we play.”

We ran left one time for 65 yardsndsean44 said:I am paying attention. I'm also looking at McGlinchey who isn't exactly paving the way for anything on the left side. Also have to consider who is on that left side waiting for us (Landry). Also they've run the ball 8 times so far? It's the first quarter. If we're running it right 75% of the time and we're past halftime, then I'll be pissed.blairkiel said:If you paid attention and are paying attention today we run far more to the right than the left. We don't gain **** ever running rightndsean44 said:No, that's what happens when your tackles and TE's win battles up front.blairkiel said:
Look what happens when you run left
I'm beyond pissed at kelly and long
It's inexcusable what we did against Georgia.
Our coaches cost us that game.
If you paid attention, they weren't doing that last week.
It's stupid

Is anyone but me beginning to entertain the thought that wimbush isn't good?
