Da'Shaun Brown‍ loved Notre Dame during his visit this weekend and the 2019 athlete emphasized the importance of tradition in South Bend.

‘I loved it, I liked Notre Dame, the traditions, and the fans they’re real into it,” the Wisconsin native explained. “The people and players seem genuine, I didn’t get a chance to talk to the coaches, but they seem like good people. Notre Dame is really big on history I liked it.”

During the visit, the athlete was able to tour the campus and was also hands-on during the visit and was able to capture the moment.

“I got to suit up into the uniform and get into one of those nice helmets, and take some pictures; I can’t wait to see the edits,” the St. Catherine’s High School standout said.  “I also got to eat some good food, took a tour of the campus, got to go shopping in the Bookstore, got to meet some of the players and just enjoy the game with front-row seats.”

Brown, who lists quarterback and cornerback as his potential positions in college, has an early offer from the in-state Badgers.

Although he wasn’t able to talk to any position coaches on Saturday, he was able to talk to Aaryn Kearney some more as well as get a player’s view about how they liked Notre Dame and again the players emphasized tradition.

“I talked to Kearney a lot, and we just talked about staying in touch and making sure Notre Dame wasn’t going to leave my mind,” explained Brown “I got to take to #68 (Mike McGlinchey) on his way into the locker room; I got to take a picture with him and I talked to another player, but I don’t know his name. I asked him how he liked it at Notre Dame and he said basically what everybody else said, ‘It’s a big tradition school, it’s nice. The coaches are nice and if you do your stuff, it will be an easy ride for you.’”

Visiting the campus and going through the traditional recruitment trip was all fun, but what was really eye-opening for Brown was the atmosphere inside the stadium and getting the chance to see the Irish run on all cylinders.

“The atmosphere was crazy,” he said. “USC brought a lot of fans so that made it even crazier. It was a loud atmosphere, the people I was with and the recruits were loud in my area so it made it live in my area. The Irish mascot got the crowd hyped up pretty well.

“Notre Dame played to the best of their ability if you asked me. I saw no fault; the defense shut them down with huge sacks in the first half, forcing turnovers and punts on USC’s half. Then #7 (Brandon Wimbush) is just amazing, he uses his feet well, gets away from tackles and still keeps his composure to make good passes.”

At the end of the trip, Brown was able to soak everything he saw in and think back to the trip and expressed that walking through the campus was a surreal moment.

“It was a big school you see in movies, like people playing football outside before the game, just traditional fans,” expressed the 2019 speedster.

Brown doesn’t have any other visit plans right now and is just going with the flow, but has one message to the Irish.

“I am going to ride the recruiting process out, and see how interested they are, keeping sending them film. If they keep interest in me and if they don’t give up on me and I am going to just keep riding this recruiting wave.”
