Andrew Raym's recruiting process started very early and this past weekend’s visit to Notre Dame changed things for the 2020 Oklahoma offensive lineman.

The standout sophomore already has offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Memphis, SMU and Tulsa. He was impressed with South Bend to say the least.

“I loved it,” the 6-foot-4, 275-pounder from Broken Arrow High School said. “The campus, the people, everything was awesome.

“I first got there and saw Touchdown Jesus. We kind of hung out and our hostess showed us pretty much the whole campus, the Basilica, the Dome. It was all nice.”

Raym was also struck by the scene inside Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday night.

“The atmosphere inside of the stadium was honestly one of the best ones I’ve seen,” he said. “It was energizing.”

And he thoroughly enjoyed seeing the Irish beat USC 49-14.

“Watching Notre Dame just whup up on USC was nice,” he laughed.

While in town, he had the chance to speak with Notre Dame offensive line coach Harry Hiestand and assistant Tommy Rees.

“They just talked about how they loved my film and how if I wanted to come play at Notre Dame, I would definitely be able to,” Raym recalled. “They want me to come back during the spring and have a day with just them to talk more.”

Raym said he will “definitely” be returning.

“Notre Dame will be pretty close to the top of my list now,” he said.

He experienced enough this past weekend that he isn’t sure what else he wants to see.

“Honestly, not much,” he said when asked what he needs to see to get a better feel for Notre Dame.

“I saw quite a bit, enough to change my mind of my recruiting. It was an amazing visit.”

Raym will be at Oklahoma for an unofficial visit this Saturday, but doesn’t have anything else planned beyond that.
