Michael Fletcher‍ took the trip down to South Bend Saturday to watch the Irish take on the Demon Deacons.

For the 2019 Michigan defensive end, it was a successful trip down to South Bend and he liked what he saw.

“I really liked it down there it was a nice school,” the Flint native said. “I liked the academics, and when it comes to football I really liked the atmosphere.”

While on his tour of the campus, the Carman-Ainsworth High School standout was able to see some facilities as well as talk to some players and coaches.

“I talked to the players and we talked about the transition to high school to college football, and about their schedules,” the junior said. “I also got to talk to Coach (Mike) Elko. he said he was glad I was there and he realized my size and likes how explosive I am and to just keep getting better.”

Fletcher was able to see a lot of Notre Dame’s facilities while in South Bend, but what really stuck out to him were how the football players spend a lot of their time.

“I liked the weight room and how they have everything close,” said the youngster. “It was nice. I loved watching the game, watching the band play, and seeing the fans. They have a lot of great fans; it was one of the better places I have been too.”

When watching the Irish dominate the Demon Deacons, the 6-foot-6, 240-pound defensive end focused in on his position.

“They played good, they did their job,” stated Fletcher. “I was watching the position I am going to play in college; I was watching what they were doing and how they were playing.”

The 2019 recruit has been getting a lot of interest from many FBS schools and has eight offers from schools like Michigan State, Wisconsin and Iowa State among others. Still, Notre Dame is a place he could see himself in the future and wants to get back in the near future.

“It felt like a place I could be, a place I could play, and the atmosphere great and I had a great time when I was down there,” Fletcher stated strongly. “I am most definitely going to try and get back down there.”
