The Breakdown: Absent Running Game vs Stanford

3.5 yards per carry. That was a shocking number to see against a Stanford defense that was not very good against the run all season. 

The worst part about this is that it had nothing to do with Notre Dame getting physically beat up front. Stanford didn't win the line of scrimmage by being better than the Irish. Watching it back, there were missed assignments, confusion on who to block, and mistakes made that shouldn't have happened in the final game of the season.
