BREAKING: Notre Dame Flips 2018 OL Luke Jones
2018 Pulaski Academy (Ark.) offensive lineman Luke Jones had been committed to Arkansas since July, but the three-star prospect flipped his commitment to Notre Dame on Wednesday afternoon with a statement on Twitter.
"At this time, I would like to announce where I will become a student-athlete in June. It was a difficult decision. I would like to thank Coach Morris, the Arkansas staff, and the fans for being so supportive to me during my time of being recruited by Arkansas.
After lots of praying and thinking, I have decided that at this time it is my best interest to commit to the University of Notre Dame. I’m very excited to enroll there as a student-athlete and I will be signing with Notre Dame on February 7th. I will always love Arkansas and I hope that everyone here will respect my decision with this next stage of my life."
With the coaching concerns at Arkansas, Notre Dame jumped on the chance to host the 6-foot-4, 290-pounder for the USC game and it paid off.
2018 Notre Dame offensive line commit Cole Mabry deserves some of the credit as the two hit it off and stayed in touch over the past few months.
Arkansas, Arizona State, Dartmouth, Iowa State, Missouri, Oregon and Virginia were a few of the programs that had offered Jones.
Jones joins Mabry and Ohio native John Dirksen in the 2018 offensive line haul for the Irish.
