2019 Four-Star WR Jake Smith Saw Himself Fitting In At Notre Dame
2019 Notre Dame Preparatory (Ariz.) receiver Jake Smith has been one of the hottest names in recruiting for the last month.
The four-star prospect holds offers from the likes of Notre Dame, Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Clemson, Duke, Georgia, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, Texas, UCLA, Utah, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin to name a few.
Notre Dame got the Scottsdale native on campus Saturday and left a lasting impression.
"The visit today was great," Smith told Irish Sports Daily. "I had an awesome time."
The highlights for Smith? Meeting head coach Brian Kelly and touring Notre Dame Stadium.
"Coach Kelly didn’t give me any specifics, but he said they really want me, and I fit well in their offense," stated Smith.
A big part of Junior Day is exposing recruits to life at Notre Dame on and off the field.
Smith and the other prospects got a chance to get a feel for the academics and life as a Notre Dame student.
"The academic presentation was really intriguing," explained Smith. "It made me think about life after football.
"I felt like I meshed really well with the coaches and players there."
The Notre Dame experience was still fresh in Smith's mind, but he knows he'll likely be back in South Bend before he wraps up his recruitment.
"I’m sure I’ll be back at some point," said Smith. "They definitely moved up on my list."
