2020 Bishop Miege (Kans.) athlete Daniel Jackson‍ camped at Notre Dame last summer and will be back in South Bend this weekend to watch practice.

“When I first went up for camp, I really loved the campus,” Jackson told Irish Sports Daily. “They had a great season last year, and I want to see what the program is about this weekend.

“I also wanted to go see practice. I want to see how they practice and how they run the offense.”

The 6-foot, 175-pounder is listed as an athlete on ISD, and we do believe his future is on the offensive side of the ball.

“I consider myself an athlete,” Jackson explained. “I can really play anywhere. I played some defense and offense throughout my whole life. I can also play special teams too.”

When it comes to the programs that have offered Jackson, the projection is also at receiver, but the roles are different team to team.

“Missouri offered me as a receiver,” stated Jackson. “When I was at Iowa State on Monday, they were telling me they’d move me around at slot and on the outside. I really haven’t talked to the Kansas coaches personally yet.”

After his visit this weekend, Jackson will head to Kansas on April 28th and then prepare for the summer camp circuit.

“I’ll be going to a few football camps,” Jackson said. “I’m going to the Iowa and Kansas State football camps. I haven’t really scheduled any other visits yet.”

At Notre Dame’s camp, Jackson worked at receiver and got to spend a lot of time around receivers coach Del Alexander. Jackson felt he connected well with Alexander looks forward to reconnecting this weekend.

“Coach Alexander coached me throughout the whole camp and gave me a lot of pointers,” said Jackson. “It was fun doing 1-on-1s with the defensive backs. I did get a feel a good feel for Coach Alexander.”

Jackson also has a Notre Dame connection as his cousin is sophomore running back/receiver Jafar Armstrong, who also played for the Bishop Miege program.

“He said Notre Dame is tough, but what college isn’t tough,” stated Jackson. “He really likes it up there, and the practices are competitive.”

Armstrong has been taking reps at running back, which didn’t surprise his Jackson when he heard the news.

“I heard he was playing running back and he played it when he was younger,” Jackson stated. “I think he’ll adapt to it and do whatever the coaches need him to do.”

However, when it comes down to the best athlete, Jackson isn’t bashful.

“I would say me,” laughed Jackson. “I’m the better athlete.”
