2020 RB Reggie Love Wants To Visit Notre Dame This Summer

The offer Reggie Love‍ received from Notre Dame back in May, “meant a lot” to the 2020 St. Louis running back.

“I always knew of Notre Dame growing up, even before football, so it was just a blessing they were actually recruiting me,” the 5-foot-10, 190-pounder says. “When they actually offered me, I was just so excited.”

The Trinity Catholic High School standout made an early trip down to South Bend a while back.

“I visited there my freshman year, but I’m looking to get up there after the dead period is over, so somewhere like the end of July, beginning of August,” Love explains.

He wants to get a good feel for everything when he does return to Notre Dame.

“Most definitely the school, but also the football team and talking with the coaches about how early I’d be able to play and if there’s a good chance I’ll play my freshman year,” he says. “Basically, just having good conversations with the coaches, meeting the players and seeing the facilities.”

The Missouri native tries to stay in touch with the staff as much as he can until contact restrictions are eased for 2020 prospects in a couple months.

“I call here and there trying to connect,” Love says. “I think I’m going to make my decision real soon, so I call and talk to them, but they can’t really (call) me until Sept. 1st.”

Love says he wants to make his decision near the “end of my junior season.”

He hasn’t identified a list of leaders at this point.

“Most definitely everybody who’s offered me,” he says of what schools he’s looking closest at. “I think they’re all on the same level.”

That would include Notre Dame along with schools like Wisconsin, TCU Nebraska, Kentucky, Louisville, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Purdue and Arkansas among others.

He already has plans to get to Madison at the end of the month.

“I’ll be visiting Wisconsin on the 31st,” he says. “Right now, I’m just trying to get to Wisconsin and Notre Dame. I visited a lot of my other schools. I’ll probably go down to TCU to visit them too.”

Love will be looking at a variety of factors when picking a school, but one will be crucial to his choice.

“Basically, their depth chart at the running back position. How early can I play? That’s most important. I want to play freshman year. I don’t want to redshirt.”
