2021 Pickerington Central (Ohio) receiver Lorenzo Styles Jr.‍ has had two great trips to Notre Dame in the last few months. The 6-foot, 165-pounder earned an offer in June at Notre Dame’s Elite Skills Camp and returned on Saturday to see the Irish get a 24-17 win over Michigan.

“The atmosphere was really exciting to be in,” Styles told Irish Sports Daily. “The parents were really into the game. I’m very appreciative to be invited to the game.”

The trip to Notre Dame was the first college game for Styles, so it was an eye-opening experience for the speedy receiver.

“I got my offers after the season, so this was the first game I’ve seen,” stated Styles. “I’ve taken visits, but this was my first game, and it was a big one.”

Notre Dame Stadium was rocking on Saturday, but the crowd wasn’t the only thing that impressed Styles during his visit.

“The game environment really impressed me,” Styles said. “The fans were so into the game. The facilities were awesome, and a new one is being built.

“Watching the team play, the physicality Notre Dame played with was very impressive.”

As a recruit, Styles got to experience some red carpet treatment as Notre Dame had a recruiting tent set up for the prospects and their families.

“They had food and some TVs set up to play Madden,” explained Styles. “I got to meet some of the other kids and official visitors, so that was pretty cool to talk to them. Jack Sawyer‍ and I were together for most of the time. We were former teammates, but we’re still good friends.”

The visit also allowed Styles to reconnect with receivers coach Del Alexander.

“He was very happy I came up,” said Styles. “He asked how I felt about the program and I got a better feel for him.”

During the game, Styles quickly noticed Notre Dame had several tall receivers, so he focused his attention on Chris Finke, and he got treated to a show from the Ohio native.

“They had a lot of big receivers, so I was watching Chris Finke a lot,” laughed Styles. “I was comparing myself to him because he was a fast receiver, so I was watching how they utilized him in the offense. His touchdown was very impressive.”

Styles hasn’t totally locked in his next set of visits, but he plans to be at a couple of Midwest powers at some point during the fall.

“I’m probably going to Ohio State for a game and also Penn State,” said Styles. “I’m not sure on other visits, but I plan to go to a few other games.”
