2019 Notre Dame safety commit Kyle Hamilton‍ made the trip from Atlanta to South Bend for the second time this season to take in Notre Dame’s 38-17 win over Stanford.

The four-star prospect was in town for the Michigan game, and Hamilton enjoyed himself once again on Saturday.

“It was awesome,” Hamilton told Irish Sports Daily. “The environment was crazy. There was an electricity that was amazing to see. I was thinking about how big of a deal it was to be around it.”

While Hamilton was taking in the atmosphere on Saturday, he also found himself realizing he’ll be part of big games at this time next fall.

“It’s definitely surreal to think I’ll be in that situation next year,” said Hamilton. “It gets me pretty hyped up. I just want to get out there and play in that kind of environment.”

The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder also got another chance to see the defense in person. Defensive coordinator Clark Lea might be in his first season, but you’d never know it.

“The defense is playing awesome right now,” stated Hamilton. “Coach Lea is doing an awesome job, especially with him being a first-year DC. It’s definitely impressive to watch what he’s doing with the team.

“I love the way they fly around and make plays. The safeties and defensive line make plays.”

During the game, Hamilton tries to enjoy the game and environment, but he also pays attention to what Lea is doing with his safeties.

“I mostly try to take it all in,” Hamilton said. “Every now and then in certain scenarios, I’ll watch the safeties to see where I would fit in.”

Notre Dame’s other safety commit Litchfield Ajavon‍ was in town this weekend, and it was the first time both players had met in person.

“I have met just about everybody already except for Litchfield,” explained Hamilton. “I got to meet him for the first time this weekend. He’s a cool kid and someone I can get along with. I know we both have the same goals in mind and I’m excited to work with him for the next four years.”

As for the future, Hamilton trusts in the plan the staff has for him, but he also knows Notre Dame is the perfect fit after taking in two games this fall.

“Experiencing that environment every time seems brand new,” said Hamilton. “It’s definitely the place for me. I’m reassured of that each time I come up.”
