2021 Episcopal Academy (Pa.) cornerback Malcolm Folk‍ made his way to Notre Dame to watch Saturday’s showdown against Stanford.

The 6-foot, 180-pounder knew he was going to get a great experience, but it still exceeded his expectations.

“It was a great experience,” Folk told Irish Sports Daily. “I knew about the rich tradition and culture of Notre Dame before I came. When I got there, the culture and atmosphere blew me away. It was unbelievable. I really enjoyed myself.”

Folk and his father made the trip from Pennsylvania and made sure to get to campus early to take in some of the landmarks around the Notre Dame campus.

“My dad and I got there a little early on Saturday,” explained Folk. “We toured the whole school. My dad is a big Irish guy, so he was pumped to see everything.

“The campus was beautiful. The architecture was cool, and the campus was big but really nice.”

Then it was time to enjoy some hospitality at the massive recruiting tent Notre Dame had set up for the recruits.

“The red carpet treatment was great,” laughed Folk..” We got to eat and listened to Aaryn Kearney talk. Then they had a player panel where they talked about their experience at Notre Dame and why it was a special place to be at.”

The player panel hit home with Folk as it was unfiltered and real conversations with guys that have been in his shoes.

“I enjoyed hearing their side on how they transitioned from high school to Notre Dame,” Folk stated. “The academics are tough, and they spoke about how they handled it, but also their overall love for Notre Dame. It was great to hear all about it.”

During the game, Folk had his eye on the Notre Dame cornerbacks, including an All-American.

“I was watching Julian Love during the game. He wears my number, so that was pretty cool. The energy was fantastic. They had guys flying to the ball every play. The defensive line was getting pressure on almost every down. The corners were lining up the guys well, so it was great to see.”

As for the rest of his fall, Folk plans to get out to see a couple more schools as he looks for his first offer.

“I plan on visiting Pitt and Syracuse,” said Folk. “I already went to Pitt earlier, so I’ll probably get there for a game. I went to Rutgers earlier this fall too.”
