Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly saw his team move to 9-0 with a 31-21 win at Northwestern on Saturday night.

On Ian Book’s 23-yard touchdown run:
“We had held that play for an opportunity to end the game. It was an unbalanced situation, and we got the numbers we wanted. He could have handed it off if they didn’t kick the front. They kicked it, and we brought the tight end back around. We were going to run the football in that situation regardless.
