Northwestern wasn't going to let Notre Dame win on the ground, so the Irish tightened up their aerial attack in the second half for the win.

After an uncharacteristic first half, Notre Dame made the necessary adjustments to expose Northwestern’s defensive game plan and come away with a 31-21 victory over the Wildcats on Saturday night.

7-for-15 for 107 yards and no touchdowns was the first-half stat line for Notre Dame signal-caller Ian Book. Quite the split for the junior, who leads the nation with a 76-percent completion rate.
