Notre Dame Still Solid #3 In College Football Playoff Rankings

No change. No surprise.

This week’s College Football Playoff rankings were just released and the top six remained the same, as expected with Alabama leading the way followed by Clemson, Notre Dame, Michigan, Georgia and Oklahoma.

Following their decisive 36-3 win over then-#12 Syracuse on Saturday, the #3 Irish head to USC this Saturday with a chance to clinch their first-ever spot in the College Football Playoffs.

Notre Dame’s impressive win over the Orange, especially while teams like Alabama, Michigan and Clemson didn’t look nearly as sharp, pretty much erased any idea of the Irish potentially being in danger even if they made it through the regular season undefeated.

The loss dropped Syracuse all of the way from 12 to #20. The Irish have now beaten four teams ranked in the Top 25, Michigan, Northwestern, Pitt and the Orange.
