We’ve told you Notre Dame will host top 2021 prospects in receiver Lorenzo Styles Jr.‍ and offensive lineman Blake Fisher‍, but there’s another big-time prospect headed to South Bend.

2021 Nazareth Academy (Ill.) quarterback JJ McCarthy‍ will make a return to Notre Dame for his third visit since June.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder attended Notre Dame’s Elite Skills Camp in June and impressed the staff as he stayed after the camp to work out for the Irish coaching staff.

Notre Dame doesn’t plan to offer a quarterback until after the playoffs complete, but if McCarthy left South Bend with an offer on Saturday, it wouldn’t come as a surprise to many as Ohio State just offered today.

McCarthy currently holds offers from Cincinnati, Indiana, Iowa State, Michigan, Minnesota, Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, South Carolina, Wisconsin and Yale.

In his first year on varsity, McCarthy completed 182-of-240 passes (76%) for 3,448 yards, 39 touchdowns and just four interceptions to help Nazareth Academy win the State Title.
