As soon as Te’von Coney and Drue Tranquill announced their were returning for another year at Notre Dame last January, Irish fans could breathe a sigh of relief. Both of them had breakout seasons in 2017 and seemed poised for bigger things to come.

They were both outstanding at Mike and Buck respectively and were arguably the two most valuable players on the defense given how much they were relied on.
