Paul Moala was moved from safety to Rover during Notre Dame’s spring practice. It’s a move that could be equally beneficial for player and program, which is exactly why it happened.

But him moving to linebacker, whether it’s permanent or not, highlights a problem that Notre Dame has at the safety position. Depth at the position will be large question mark hanging over the 2019 season. It could be a much bigger problem in 2020.
