BREAKING | The Nation's Top Long Snapper Alex Peitsch Commits To Notre Dame
Notre Dame landed the top long snapper in the country on Wednesday as St. John’s College (D.C.) standout Alex Peitsch has committed to the Irish.
The 6-foot-2, 218-pounder received his offer from Notre Dame last week following a workout and didn’t take long to decide South Bend was the place for him on and off the field.
“I’m looking for big-time football, a scholarship and great academics,” stated Peitsch. “You know that’s something Notre Dame has, so it’s really nice.”
Notre Dame was the only school to offer him, but he was close to getting offers from Georgia, Penn State, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest.
Peitsch visited Notre Dame in February and credited special teams coordinator Brian Polian for making him feel at home.
“I’ve been talking with Coach Polian a lot and I visited in February,” Peitsch said. “I have a former teammate (DJ Brown) on the team now. It’s a really good fit because of the academics, athletics and scholarship.”
The D.C. native is commitment No. 8 in Notre Dame’s 2020 class joining Drew Pyne, Jordan Johnson, Kevin Bauman, Michael Mayer, Jordan Botelho, Alexander Ehrensberger and Aidan Keanaaina.
