Coach: Notre Dame Offer "Huge" For 2021 WR Jayden Ballard
Jayden Ballard is already drawing serious attention from some of the nation’s top programs and last week, the 2021 Ohio wide receiver landed an offer from Notre Dame.
“It’s a huge offer,” Massillon High School head coach Nate Moore said. “He was real excited about it and it’s one of his options.”
Moore said he believes the 6-foot-2, 171-pound sophomore made it to South Bend for a game within the last couple years and “would imagine” Ballard would try to get back in the future, but wasn’t 100 percent sure.
“His summer is pretty busy and the day games can be difficult,” the coach said. “The night games are easier, but that’s probably a better question for Jaden.”
Ballard also has early offers from Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Missouri, Boston College and Washington State.
“From a football standpoint, there are a lot of thigs that make Jayden special,” Moore explained. “He’s got the length that you want at receiver. He’s got excellent speed. He’s got elite ball skills. He’s really improving as a route-runner and becoming a complete receiver. He’s a good blocker. He’s got a lot of things to offer on the football field.”
Off the field, Ballard checks the boxes as well, according to his coach.
“He’s a really nice kid,” Moore said. “He’s fun to be around. He’s a kid who is easy to like.
“He’s got a lot of things going for him.”
