Irish Sports Daily can confirm through multiple sources junior offensive lineman Aaron Banks had surgery last week on a broken foot.

Notre Dame orthopedic surgeon Dr. Brian Ratigan completed the surgery.

When it comes to a recovery timeframe, we expect the 6-foot-6, 325-pounder back for camp, although Notre Dame may ease him back into action.

Banks figures to be Notre Dame’s starting left guard as he played in all 13 games and was the starter for the final six games of the season.

The California native did not see action his freshman season as he spent the year on scout team after enrolling early.

Banks also joins classmate Dillan Gibbons as players who had surgery following a foot injury this offseason as Gibbons had surgery in May after playing a large portion of the spring on a broken foot.
