The Latest | 2022 S Emory Floyd
2022 Hillgrove (Ga.) safety Emory Floyd was fired up to get his offer from Notre Dame on Monday as it was one he wanted. Notre Dame safeties coach Chris O'Leary offered and actually woke Floyd up to offer, so it was a "great morning." O'Leary has been in contact with the three-star prospect for several weeks and Floyd feels he has a great relationship with him to this point. Floyd said you can feel O'Leary's passion for coaching DBs in conversation and he relates to that well. Floyd plans to narrow his recruitment to a top group on April 19th, which is his birthday and then commit to a school on May 7th. I would lean towards Notre Dame having a good shot at making his top group as O'Leary has hit several important aspects of this recruitment already. Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia and South Carolina are firmly in the mix as well, so the Irish will have stiff competition. Perhaps the X-factor in this recruitment will be his mother who has stressed academics from day one. It's worth noting she was also extremely excited to hear Floyd was offered by Notre Dame this morning. Floyd also mentioned he has no problem leaving the South, but that he needs to be comfortable with the school and staff. Floyd does plan to take some independent visits before his commitment as the NCAA dead period goes through the end of May (as of now), so it will be crucial for Notre Dame to get him on campus in the coming months. He does want to major in Business and is aware Notre Dame is a great school when it comes to that area. That said, the other programs do have an advantage in proximity, so Notre Dame will need to overcome that and get Floyd and his mother on campus at some point. National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.
