A few recruiting notes
- Notre Dame did a great job with 2027 Sam Houston (La.) offensive lineman Albert Simien over the weekend. The family left extremely impressed. If it were up to the family, Notre Dame would likely be the top dog in his recruitment right now. But I expect Notre Dame to make a strong push to get him back for a Junior Day or spring practice. - 2027 IMG Academy (Fla.) linebacker Amarri Irvin likely has the Irish in the lead or close to it following his visit over the weekend. I believe having Thomas Davis Jr. in town helped as they were able to form a bond. I don't believe there is any bad blood between the family and Notre Dame after the Irish passed on his older brother, Sedrick, after being a long-time commit. - I would expect Notre Dame to see how interested 2026 Fort Cherry (Pa.) Penn State safety commit Matt Sieg is at this point. Sieg has been committed to Penn State for almost a year, but Notre Dame has been quietly hanging around. The Irish don't really need another safety in the class as Ayden Pouncey and Joey O'Brien are about as good as it gets, but if they did happen to get Sieg, it'd give Notre Dame some flexibility with O'Brien and Pouncey, as they can also play corner.Under Armour Navy Notre Dame Fighting Irish Gameday Armourfuse Polo
