The Latest | 2027 LB Recruiting
Four 2027 linebackers with Notre Dame offers made their way to campus on Friday for Irish Invasion. I have some notes on three of them following camp. - Cooper Witten made his second trip to South Bend this spring and that speaks volumes. Multiple sources believe Notre Dame is setting a high bar in his recruitment. Witten's father, Jason, joined him on the first visit and was present again today. It's still early in his recruitment, but I think Notre Dame is in as strong of a position as anyone right now. - Garyon Hobbs got his first look at Notre Dame on Friday. The Kentucky native loved Max Bullough's coaching style and was also impressed with campus. He took part in the BBQ following camp and felt very comfortable with those around him. I would expect him to be back on campus in the fall at some point. - Ellis McGaskin was almost at a loss for words as Notre Dame exceeded his expectations by a mile. I'm not sure I've heard a recruit rave about Bullough as much as McGaskin. The four-star prospect was also speechless when Marcus Freeman spoke and made time for him. He even admitted he was more nervous to talk to Freeman than Jason Witten. I think Notre Dame is in a very strong position here. Long way to go, but McGaskin made it clear he had no issues leaving the state of Alabama for college. Overall, I would not be surprised if Notre Dame leads for McGaskin and Witten as of June 6, 2025 - but there's a long way to go here. Notre Dame Fighting Irish Comfort Colors Mascot Overlay T-Shirt

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Notre Dame and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Notre Dame and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
