Couple More Notes
Spoke to a few more sources this week. TEAM- One source I spoke with echoed the statements that Phil Jurkovec was impressing and just looked confident in everything he does. Not to hype him up too much before he puts on the pads but Jurkovec has done exactly what he needed to do this summer. - We've told you in the past that the team has done a great amount of running under Matt Balis' guidance this summer and the source said the team is in the best shape he's seen them in. - The team is off for the next few days, so most of the team will be going home tonight on Thursday before camp starts next week. Some of the team went to Brian Kelly's lake house on Wednesday night for a BBQ and some time on the water. RECRUITING- 2019 Arizona defensive end Bralen Trice is the top name on the board at his position for Notre Dame. He is developing a good relationship with Mike Elston and will be on campus this fall and most likely in September. It will be a battle to keep him off the West Coast as the other four programs he's considering are West Coast programs. However, he's been the guy since NaNa Osafo-Mensah committed and we'll see if the Irish can make a move this fall. - I also spoke to a source about 2019 Illinois defensive end Josiah Miamen. It looks like Notre Dame is going to pass on him for the time being and I'm not sure his recruitment will be revisited.

2019 IL DE Josiah Miamen blowing up
2019 Dunlap (Ill.) defensive end Josiah Miamen visited Notre Dame earlier this month for a multi-day visit and while some thought he might be on commit watch, the three-star prospect left South Bend without committing. The 6-foot-4, 225-pounder has recently picked up offers from Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State and looks to set fo a decision in the fall. Miamen told me following his visit he was planning to commit between now and the middle of his season, but with the recent offers, I would imagine he will wait it out and take some more visits before deciding. He now holds offers from Illinois, Illinois State, Iowa, Kent State, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Penn State, Princeton, Purdue and Vanderbilt. National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Notre Dame and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Notre Dame and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
