2021 DE/TE Logan Weedman Enjoys Notre Dame Return
Logan Weedman was in South Bend for camp this summer and the 2021 Kentucky defensive end/tight end was back again on Saturday for Notre Dame’s win over Virginia.
“It was awesome,” the 6-foot-5, 240-pounder said. “The environment was exciting. Everybody was hyped. All of the fans were behind the fighting Irish the whole time. It was awesome.”
Weedman also got a semi-private tour around the Gug.
“The facilities were awesome, especially the new indoor facility,” he said. “It was great.”
He also had an opportunity to speak with defensive line coach Mike Elston, offensive line coach Jeff Quinn and head coach Brian Kelly.
“When I met Coach Kelly, it was just a quick, ‘Hi, how are you doing,’” Weedman recalled. “It was after the game and he was busy. Coach Elston and I were talking about how my games have been going, how I’ve been doing on the defensive side of the ball. With Coach Quinn, we were talking about o-line.
“They’re great, really fun guys.”
Weedman, who has early offers from Kentucky and Western Kentucky, said he thinks Notre Dame is more interested in him on the defensive side of the ball.
“I’ll definitely keep an eye on them, maybe go up for a few more games and definitely camp again there this summer,” said Weedman, who doesn’t have any other visits locked in right now.
“I just want to get to know the coaches more and get back there more often.”
Weedman comes from the same town and high school, Apollo, as former Irish offensive lineman and Notre Dame’s current Director of Player Personnel, Hunter Bivin.
“We talked before and after the game,” he said of himself and Bivin. “It’s great knowing he came from Owensboro and he’s someone to look up to, especially with him playing football at that great of a school.”
