After losing to Penn State last week, Jim Harbaugh is now 43-16 (.729 winning percentage) since returning to Michigan to run their program. It was almost universally seen as a home run hire at the time and when you consider where the program was when he took it over, his time there could be viewed as a success.

But no one is comparing Harbaugh to Rich Rodriguez and Brady Hoke. It was a given that he was going to be more successful than those two coaches. They are comparing him to the best coaches in college football and from that perspective, his four and a half seasons have been a massive disappointment.
