Holloman Excited To See ND
“Seeing how Coach (Mike) Denbrock and Coach (Scott) Booker are able to utilize receivers in their offense and just seeing the progress they give to receivers and how they build them, that’s just something I want to be a part of,” the Newton High School standout said.
Holloman, who checked in at 6-2 and 192 pounds at The Opening Finals in Oregon earlier this month, is still looking forward to his opportunity to see it all in person.
“I’m going to have a chance to talk with the coaches, sit down and see how they would be able to put me in the offense,” said Holloman.
“From talking and messages and stuff like that, they said they would use me as an outside receiver. I just want to see how they would use me in certain situations. I’d like to talk to the players to see if it’s somewhere I could fit in at.”
He already has a pretty good feel for Denbrock and Booker as people.
“I really like them,” he said. “They’re really relaxed type of guys. They’re really cool with me.”
Holloman, who saw his offer sheet explode to close to 50 in a matter of months, has several other schools he’d like to visit in the coming months as well.
“I want to get a chance to see Oregon, Southern Cal, Oklahoma State, Miami, Florida State and Florida,” he said.
Distance won’t be a factor in his decision, as evidenced by the schools he’s looking to visit, but how he’d fit in in each offense will be huge.
“The situations certain schools have going on with how they’d be able to utilize me, that’s all it is,” he said of how he’ll decide which school to attend.
Once an under-the-radar prospect, Holloman removed that label for good with his performance in Oregon.
“It’s just basically staying humble and coming out here to work, competing and showing my skills. Just being able to keep working, that’s all it is,” he said of what he wanted to get out of the event.
