2021 Guyer (Texas) cornerback Deuce Harmon‍ was ready to get back on the football field on Saturday as he participated in Pylon's 7-on-7 event at Nolan Catholic.

"I'm trying to get this good connection going and have a fun weekend with them," stated Harmon. "I'm ready for this 7-on-7 to start back up. I've been waiting since last year since it ended because we didn't really have good stuff going on. I've been hungry for this."

The four-star prospect plays both sides of the ball, but it's becoming clear his future is on the defensive side of the ball.

Harmon's focus this spring will be on his mental preparation as he hopes it gives him a leg up on his competition.

"I always can improve on everything, even the stuff I'm good at," explained Harmon. "I still have more room for improvement. I want to be a student of the game and tell what they're running or have a good idea of the plays they're running before they hike the ball. That is always good and it's a matter of studying."

When it comes to his recruitment, Harmon has seen several programs offer in recent weeks, but a few local schools continue to make him a priority.

"Texas A&M is pushing for me hard," said Harmon. "Oklahoma State, SMU, TCU are all pushing for me hard.

"I just got Virginia Tech and they're going for me hard."

The Irish offered about three weeks ago and Harmon has been impressed with the opportunity in South Bend.

"Notre Dame is getting after me hard," Harmon said. "I have big-time colleges trying to push for me.

"They're telling me they really want me and I'd be a good fit for them not only on the football side, but the classroom side too."

Harmon will be at Notre Dame this spring and it's a trip he's looking forward to experiencing.

"I feel good about them," Harmon stated. "I can't wait to go over there and take a visit. I'm going on April 4th."

Texas is a school that hasn't offered, but the Longhorns could quickly get into the mix as Harmon is familiar with new cornerbacks coach Jay Valai.

"We have a good connection," said Harmon. "I've worked out with him when I was young. What I've heard, they're waiting to see my press and if I can press and run. I know I can do that.

"I think they'll be offering me soon."
