2021 four-star quarterback Tyler Buchner‍ won't be suiting up for The Bishop's School (Calif.) in 2020 as he'll transfer to Helix High School about 30 minutes away from Bishop's.

The Buchner family sent a statement to ISD on Thursday night.

“Our family is relocating and Tyler will be transferring to Helix for the fall. First and foremost, Tyler has had a great experience at Bishop’s and will always love his coaches, teachers, classmates and teammates. It is a special school and he is grateful for all it has done for him. This was a really hard decision. It started because of his interest in enrolling early at Notre Dame and was centered around his focus on being the best student-athlete he can be. Ultimately we all agreed that this would be best for our family and Tyler. For now, he won't do any interviews or comment further on this decision and won’t do so until he is enrolled at Helix. Thank you for your understanding.” — The Buchner Family

Buchner returned to the field in 2019 after tearing his ACL in 2018 and took the country by storm.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder completed 267-of-402 passes for 4,474 yards, 53 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also rushed 128 times for 1,610 yards and 28 touchdowns.

Buchner's offensive coordinator at The Bishop's School, Danny Mitchell, will also be leaving the program as he's bringing his high flying offense to Torrey Pines High School.

Buchner will finish the year and play lacrosse for Bishop's this spring.
