2021 WR Titus Mokiao-Atimalala Updates Recruitment with ESPN Honolulu
2021 Ewa Beach (Hawaii) receiver Titus Mokiao-Atimalala jumped on ESPN 92.7 Honolulu on Wednesday night to provide an update on his recruitment.
The 6-foot-1, 170-pounder holds offers from programs all over the country and continues to be grateful to be in the position he has found himself in.
"As of right now, I'm at 20," Mokiao-Atimalala said of his offers to ESPN Honolulu. "It's a true blessing to be able to receive an offer to play at the next level. It shows my hard work me and my family have done is paying off."
The Hawaii native has always stated academics would be a priority and that continued on Wednesday.
"On the school side, I'm looking at the Business program because I want to be an entrepreneur in the future," stated Mokiao-Atimalala. "I want to build good relationships with the coaches and really get to know what these coaches are like on a daily basis. Getting to know them is a main thing."
Mokiao-Atimalala was planning on taking a few unofficial visits on the West Coast during the spring and an official visit in June.
Those plans were canceled due to Covid-19 and now Mokiao-Atimalala is hopeful he'll get to take his visits before he makes a decision.
"No, I didn't," Mokiao-Atimalala told ESPN Honolulu when asked about taking visits over the offseason. "I was actually supposed to visit Notre Dame for an official visit, but it ended because of the virus.
"As of right now, I'm planning on making my decision after the season. I really want to take all of my official visits and really visit the top schools I'm looking at."
Notre Dame and other programs have also remained productive even without Mokiao-Atimalala getting to step foot on campus.
"Me and my family did a lot of virtual visits," Mokiao-Atimalala explained. "I've been building relationships with receiver or DB coaches and the head coaches. I've been talking to them to get to know them and they send me information about the school. It's all good to know and learn about all the schools I'm looking at. It's been great."
Mokiao-Atimalala may have offers from the mainland, but Hawaii is still a program in the race. Hawaii signed his brother, Tamatoa, in the 2020 class and playing together is an intriguing option.
"Hawaii is one of the top schools, especially because my brother is going to be there," stated Mokiao-Atimalala. "A lot of my family can come out and watch me and brother do our thing. I told the coach I'm planning to let things play out and Coach (Todd) Graham told me he was going to show me what they can do. I'm going to keep my word on it."
Could a top group be named soon? We'll see, but Mokiao-Atimalala is remaining patient.
"As of right now, I'm still looking into all the schools," said Mokiao-Atimalala. "I do have a list of the top schools, but I haven't really closed my options in my recruiting process yet."
